Know its contents and route
Lymph contains many lymphocytes and very few red blood cells. It moves from tissues through lymphatic vessels toward veins and the heart; it does not flow outward from the heart to organs.
Recognise its roles
Lymphatic vessels return excess interstitial fluid and transport absorbed fats and other materials. Lymphocytes support immune defence.
